What to ask of Yahoo, Google and Microsoft – item 1 – seamless sharing of highly sensitive personal data   Leave a comment

Here is a very good example of what we all want the dominant players of Web 2.0 to work towards, for both businesses and consumers:

What Google doesn’t get by ZDNet‘s Dana Blankenhorn — This is about the transformation and display of data.

For our purposes, this is about the "conversion and rendering" of data in the most demanding identity management scenario ever possible for the individual.

This is a great end in mind: as it sets the right perspective for a dozen intermediate steps that will be all the more compelling – for us as consumers and businesses as well as for their providers – by keeping this end as the overarching target.

Hope I can put together two or three more examples in the next few days to start connecting the dots. Watch this space!

So, Microsoft and Yahoo, what can they do together that’s good for the rest of us   Leave a comment

There is at least one key thing there in my view, I’m still working to spell it out and waiting for the dust to settle and comments to come in.

Let’s start from here: it’s about what they can do for us that we would buy with our time and money, much more than what one can do with the other – or another – or without the other. Still looking for comments in this direction, more than "will one tear apart the other’s server infrastructure?"… come on, let’s look beyond our navels.

Or maybe it’s just the alliance manager in me…

My online identity, now pictured – identità online, ci metto la faccia   Leave a comment

This blog started when I realised business web presence now welcomes a picture, too.
Seeing how we look like does help us work with each other across time and space – exactly what these posts are all about.

Now I got few pictures, likely as good as they will possibly get at this time of life, one  on each of my business web pages and other presence tools.

What will be different in my web interactions? How may I even notice?

Thanks to the kind colleague who made these pictures bearable – his name best left associated with more worthwhile work.
